Trigger Point Therapy (1.0 hr. $125 1.5 hr. $185)

Trigger points are “focal” areas of tenderness in a muscle, of which there are two types; active and latent. Active trigger points cause muscular pain which will then be referred to another area of the body when pressure is applied. Latent trigger points only exhibit pain when compressed and do not refer pain to other regions of the body. These points are believed to be one of the causes of stiff joints and restricted range of motion coincidental with the aging process. The goal of trigger point therapy is to re-educate the muscle into pain-free habits while relieving the immediate symptoms. After several treatments the swelling and stiffness of neuromuscular pain should be reduced and range of motion improved. The therapy will also bring relief of tension along with increased circulation, flexibility and coordination.
